LIMITED EDITION #527 Large and square octovo hardcover; tight and straight spine/binding; pages very white, bright and crisp; the cover is unworn, else a FINE copy. Solid and internally unblemished. In the late 19th century firearms makers were using popular artists to help advertise their ware. "In 1902 S & W took this approach one step further." Comissioned famous artists including F. Remington, Dan Smith, R. Roth, Peters, Lyford, Inches, Arthur Heming and Edmond H. Osthaus to illustrate handguns. 12 of these illustrations are reproduced here as a catalog. Each colored poster/illustration is on one page and on the other is the month as a backdrop to a specific revolver, e. g., Jan. is by D Smith, "Hostiles", opposite is a S&M Model 3 .44 revolver.
